Hi Loves! Can you believe this weekend we will be in the month of September?! I am sure you have been pouring over all the September issues perusing the Fall and Winter fashion. This time of year always reminds my of my years covering New York Fashion Week-- way back when it was under the tents in Bryant Park and very exclusive. This was back in 2006 when bloggers were just getting started and had not yet gained the full respect of the press. I'll have to dedicate a whole post to my 7 years covering New York Fashion Week. Look out for it soon!
TRANSITIONING TO FALL STYLE
Although we still have a few weeks before the official start of Fall. It is time to start slowly transitioning into Fall style. Depending on where you live, this could be simple or a bit more complicated. For me, in Atlanta, the weather can be funny. We had a very rainy Summer and things are just now getting back to normal. It is still pretty hot, at around 85 degrees, and it is just starting to cool off somewhat in the evenings. This makes moving into Fall fashion a bit more complicated. But it can be done!
Sunglasses are not just for the Summer. Pull out your favorite pair and keep rolling with them. I love these sunglasses I'm wearing because they have just a hint of tint and do not have a super dark tint. Which means you can leave them on when you run in and outdoors while your going about your daily business because you can actually see through them both inside and outside. These Gucci sunnies were my very first luxury purchase about 13 years ago. I have no idea how they survived 3 moves (one overseas) within that time period, but they are my go to sunnies!
Jeans: Skinny Light Wash Jean (Medium wash in pictures)
Shoes: Acelyn Sandal
Earrings: Tassel Drop Earrings with Bows
Bracelet: Open Cuff Hammered Metal Bracelet
Sunnies: Gucci Sunglasses (similar style)
This year I really fell in love with bows. It's hard to think of a grown woman loving bows. But if you do it right, it works-- like on these Polla Pumps! The bows on these earrings make a serious statement. You literally can not miss them. I recommend wearing your hair in some sort of updo style so you can really show them off.
ROLL UP YOUR SLEEVES & OPEN TOES
An easy way to accommodate a long sleeve shirt when the weather is funny during the transition from Summer to Fall is to roll up your sleeves! It will cool you off and you'll look stylish too. Plus it provides a perfect opportunity to show off your arm candy, like this bracelet cuff. I really love this floral stripped button down shirt! It is sheer so I paired with a white bralette. You can also wear a cami underneath for a more conservative look.
Another way to transition while the weather is slowly changing, is to pair jeans with open toe heels. Now, you may be thinking that I've been rocking these white Acelyn open toe sandals all Summer long-- well, I have. Let me tell you why. They are so comfortable! It is very rare that I find a heel that is comfortable to walk in and that I'm not dying to get out of by the end of the day. So when I find a pair that fit well, I rock them hard. I'm going to wear these until the wheels fall off!
How do you transition into Fall style? Post your process in the comments below. I look forward to hearing from you.
