How to wear a floral midi dress 3 ways

Updated: Nov 23, 2019

I’m in a season of my fashion life where I’m cultivating how to make more out of less. I want to get full utility of the clothes in my wardrobe. I love buying new clothes and I tend to rotate clothing in my closet frequently. However, recently I’ve become a little obsessed with figuring out how to stretch an item and wear it multiple ways.

I decided to challenge myself to see how many different styles I can get out of one piece of clothing and figure out how to make it more stylish than it already is. That is really what style is all about—adding your own fashion sense and creativity. There is no wrong or right way to do it. The important thing is that you mix it up into a style that you love and that speaks to who you are, and then own it!

A CLOSET FULL OF CLOTHES AND NOTHING TO WEAR

Have you ever looked into your closet and felt like you have nothing to wear? (even though your closet is full of clothes!). I’m so guilty of this. This recently happened when I was trying to figure out what to wear on a date. This is when I decided to step back and examine what I actually had in my closet and see what I could cook up!

I have this floral midi dress from Target that I’ve worn a few times and I’ve become a little bored with it. I really wanted to wear it and I decided to experiment and see how I could jazz it up. Here’s what I came up with:

3 WAYS TO WEAR A FLORAL MIDI DRESS IN YOUR 40's

STYLE #1 For the first style I’ve paired my midi dress with a long, oversized cardigan, box heels and a crossbody bag.

STYLE #2 For the second style, I’ve added a classic short cardigan with pumps to my floral midi dress.

STYLE #3 For the final style, I’ve paired my midi dress with a skinny belt, sock booties, a hat, and a peacoat.
