Style Alert: Paper Bag Trousers
Hey fashion and style lovers! Time is rolling so fast and I can’t believe we are already well into October. It seems like 2018 is just flying by. Fall is one of my favorite times of year not just for the beautiful foliage and all the pretty colors on display in nature during Autumn— but also because I finally get to transition my wardrobe! I love the cooler weather and quiet as kept, I prefer to wear more clothes than less! The only exception is if I am on the beach. Otherwise I love to layer up and cover up! There is something comforting about being wrapped up in layers of clothes.
Paper Bag Trousers
I am always attempting to expand my comfort zone a bit when it comes to fashion. Paper bag trousers, or paper bag pants as some call them, were definitely outside of my comfort zone. However, once I tried them on and started experimenting I realized they are are super cute and can even be flattering—if you pair them with the right items. What works best for my body type is a fitted top so that the “paper bag” aspect, which is the top portion of the pant that is scrunched together at the waist is prominent and the most visible feature.
While I think these paper bag trousers go best with a fitted top, I also wanted to add a bit of color and flare to the outfit. So I’ve paired this silk windbreaker blouse with bubble sleeves — another element that is on trend for the Fall/Winter. I really like this top because it can be worn buttoned up as a blouse or open as an outerwear jacket. While it has a windbreaker/jacket look, it is actually very light material. Its also very comfy!
Booties, booties, booties, everywhere! Ha! My absolute favorite thing about the cooler weather is finally getting to wear booties and boots. I literally stay in a pair from October to about March. It is one of my favorite style elements. I love so many of the styles including the Chelsea bootie, which I will be sharing in an upcoming post. The awesome thing abut Fall 2018 is there are so many new Bootie styles to choose from! The velvet (or velveteen, lol) look is so chic. What I love about these are the slip on aspect. And the sock bootie style is on trend and all the rage for Fall!
